I see many cases of heart diseases everyday and it really hurts to see that people are so ignorant about their health. They consult a doctor only when there is a major issue. I wish that after reading my story, they would start consulting a doctor for heart health on the slightest suspicion and not when the disease has progressed.

A patient showed up early morning with symptoms of an upcoming heart attack. An ECG also confirmed the same. I recommended immediate hospitalization. The patient and his family refused to get him hospitalized as they felt there was nothing seriously wrong with him. I could see from the ECG that he is heading towards a heart attack and with great difficulty managed to convince the patient to get hospitalized.

Since, I was confident that this was going to happen, I personally accompanied the patient to Kakadiya hospital. As expected, he suffered from a heart attack on the way. It was a massive one!! I called up the hospital to get the room equipped for this emergency. With great difficulties, we finally managed to revive him. Today, after 10 years, the patient is living a normal life and is under proper medications to keep heart diseases under control.

I wish all Indians start consulting physicians on a regular basis to maintain a healthy physical condition and don’t wait for something serious to happen and then meet the doctor.
