The devastating incident happened in the first week of April when both my 70+ parents and myself were detected Covid-19 positive at Agra.

My chest CT score report was 9. Initially I had mild symptoms but the condition worsened in 48 hrs. My oxygen saturation dropped to 75 and I was coughing profusely. The local physician advised immediate hospitalization. Sourcing a bed and Oxygen was a nightmare of it’s kind! Fortunately, managed to get admitted in Global Rainbow Multispecialty Hospital which is one of the top most hospitals of Agra. Then started the war of arranging for my medicines. I was prescribed Favipiravir & Remdesivir along with other antibiotic and steroids.

There was no stock of Favipiravir in Agra and Remdesivir in Rainbow hospital. Hospital staff asked us to procure from Govt. Hospital. My husband was the only healthy person in the family, that time, new in Agra and I was really tensed, how he would manage everything. Fortunately, my husband works at Zydus Healthcare and many staff members from Zydus stood beside us to give me my second life.

Mr. Satish Dandekar, Sr. Vice President and a guardian to us, helped us arrange the medicines. Oxygen cylinders were arranged for my old parents by Zydus managers from Delhi. I am indebted to Zydus and people like Mr. Dandekar, Mr. Bhalerao, Mr. Rajesh Kaul, Mr. Jinu Jacob, Mr. Shishir, Mr. Tejprakash, Ms. Nanda and so many colleagues of my husband who helped us to come out of this misery. Each passing day felt like my last day, but many Zydans and doctors called my husband and me and kept us motivated to fight this situation.

I was on oxygen support for 7 days and my CT score went up to 19, with 60% lungs damaged but finally with God’s grace I recovered. I was discharged after almost 2 weeks of hospitalization.

I want to thank Dr. Narendra Malhotra, Dr. Jaideep Malhotra, Dr. Keshav Malhotra, Dr. Neharika Malhotra Bora, Dr. Vishwadeepak and entire staff of Rainbow Hospital from the core of my heart who gave me back my life. I am indebted to them and Zydus, for my entire life.
